I Love Watches

One of the things I can do without is a watch. I do not go out of the house without wearing one. It has been a basic and an essential accessory for me. Though I always get to work late, haha, I always have a fancy for watches. I own different styles with different colors. I wear ones that would fit my daily look. I have big ones that looks sporty. Other women love the small ones because it looks very feminine. Not me. Men love the big ones and so do I.
IF you know someone who loves watches, why not recommend him to try Festina watches? They are absoute great finds that would last a lifetime! It is the finest brand available in town and the most respected when it comes to producing men's watches. They have a vast selections to choose from with varying prices depending on the type of watch you want.

10th GenSan's Tuna Festival

Going to work this afternoon, I had to walk a hundred meters to get to my work place. The roads were closed. The local government employees and the rest of the city's constituents were gathered in preparation for the parade. The festive mood all over the place can be felt by everyone. This is to signal the start of the 10th Tuna Festival here in General Santos City. This is in commemoration of the City's 40th Charter Anniversary. The festival's culmination will be on September 5 and it has been declared a local legal holiday. This year's theme is: A decade of fish-tivities and oppor-Tuna-ties
I had fun watching the formal opening salvo. True to its theme, an ethno-jazz dance competition was conducted which was divided into three (3) categories: elementary, city government employees and high school categories respectively. Various interpretations to the song "Dire Ta Sa Gensan" (a Cebuano song encouraging people to visit GenSan) were presented by the different performers.
Gensan is hailed as the Philippines Tuna Capital. The vast source of the country's overall revenue comes from the city's prosperous tuna industry. The tuna industry also provided employment to at least 100, 000 Generals (a term called for people inahabiting GenSan).
The festival's opening ceremony ended with a fabulous fireworks display. The grandest display I have seen thus far!

Home Theaters

An ideal home, my brothers were telling me, is one that has home theater sconces. Oh well, it is but normal for them to say that because they so love watching movies, they love music and anything that has to do with art. The problem lies in not having enough budget for remodelling our very small house. If we get to have our own theater room, not here on our current residence. It's too small. And I mean small! Government's low-cost housings have always been like that.
But anyway, if one day, I get rich by blogging (hahahaha!), I would love to have a theater room that could accommodate a big screen, half of the size on what we see in the movie theaters, hehe! I think I am getting insane with this kind of thinking, haha! But it wouldn't be too bad to dream, right? I need to work harder for it though. If I mean harder, I need to double my effort and save up enough if I want to realize my dreams.

What's Wrong?

I have made a reservation for the Daddy's Home opportunity at SS a couple of days back. It's one of those webisodes that were offered to me across my two blogs. I was a little positive that this particular opportunity shall be offered to me in no time because I've already made three before, all of them were approved. It was indeed reserved for me at 1AM today.
But as my friend Twerlyn has been emphasizing to me last night, it was limited for US bloggers only. What the heck! I have always been careful of what oops to reserve at SS. It hasn't happened that I reserved opportunities reserved only for US bloggers and at the time when I had it reserved, it wasn't emphasized that it's only limited for US bloggers. Could it be that SS changed the specifications? If so, they shouldn't have done that. I was all set to send them a ticket and mutter on this but their page is not available. I'm itching to express my annoyance, Grrrr!

Thank You and My Apologies

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Entrecarders who have been dropping their cards on this blog. You made another history for this blog again as this blog climbed up at the No. 2 spot for Popular Blogs. I'm sure when you get to check the standings, I will be relegated from this spot one more time, hehe! It's good to savor the moment while it lasts, hahaha!

All at the same time, my apologies to Entrecarders whose drops I wasn't able to reciprocate. I really have a hard time choosing from whose blogs I get to return my drops on. I am relying on my own judgment and I'm hoping I am indeed making a sound judgment, hehe.
Just today, I got 548 return drops breaking my previous record of 507. My advertiser got 209 clicks from here. It's a pity though that I couldn't return all those drops coming my way. If only I could drop to more than 300, I would love to!

If ever there's a rehabilitation center for ecard dropping addiction, I wouldn't want to be cured, hahahaha! I so love going through different interesting blogs and meeting beautiful people as well. I made wonderful friends through Entrecard and for me, it has made dropping cards a lot more fun and inspiring, aside from the boost in traffic of course!
Who could have forget that? It did wonders for both of my blogs especially since I am into doing paid reviews. I am just hoping the Entrecard team won't kick out this particular blog from it's current category (Mixed Bag). They did kicked my other blog out, Our Journey to Forever, from it's previous category- from Romance, I've switched it to Personal Diary. I hope everyone is happy now ;-)
I am happy my effort of dropping 900 cards for my 3 blogs is paying off. And it's all because of YOU!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

"The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom..."

Just click the image above!

Despite the differences in doctrines and practices among Christian-professing churches and the claim of each one to being of God, almost all, if not all of them, agree, that it is man's inherent duty to serve his Creator.

That being said, I have always wondered how I could glorify the Lord in everything I do. Since most of the time, I am caught up in my blogging chores, I have often thought of how I could incorporate blogging and all at the same time give all the praises to Him for every blessings that He bestowed upon me.
Such thoughts found an answer via an electonic mail sent to me by one of my BFF's in the person of Uncle Che of AZ Blogging. He invited me to be one of the contributors for the Entrecard 4 Religion blog. It came so timely that I got so ecstatic! I even volunteered to do the dropping chores in his behalf.
At first, I thought we will get to post entries for this blog. I even wrote my first write up from there entitled "On Religion". But Uncle Che made it known that EC for Religion is not an informational site. Rather, "all we have to do is raise credits, and look for some religious blogs to help promote. We will have to encourage people to add their religious blogs and also encourage Entrecarders to donate credits to promote these particular blogs. To make everything clear and transparent, we will be maintaining the progress reports to tell the world exactly how we are using the credits".
I think promoting religious blogs is one good move to make it known in the entire blogosphere that there is one Supreme Being that is more worthy of praise and glory. Putting God Almighty in that stature gives me self-worth because this is a personal fulfillment of a lifetime vow- to give back all the glory to Him in everything that we do, undaunted by the dire economic conditions prevailing in our time and unfazed by the inevitable occurences that may come in between to test our faith.
I am encouraging everyone to get involved in our cause. This movement is not limited to any particular faith. If you believe that there is God and He blessed your life with His existence, I think you can do and share more of His blessings by helping out promote religion and spirituality in the blogosphere.
I hope you could join us!

Physical Exercise

I have previously ranted my own struggle at losing weight. I got too desperate I resorted to taking different weight loss pill without physician's prescription. Now you may ask me, "Lainy, why do you have to struggle at losing weight when you look alright to me?"
I have heard that too many times already. But how can I be comfortable dressing up when my fats are bulging? Mind you, I dress for comfort, not for fashion. I just wanted to get rid of unwanted fats. I know that nothing can beat taking physical exercise as the best form of losing weight and keeping one's body healthy. My search for the best weight loss pill will soon be over if I get to spend some time for taking that exercise that we all so need.

Featured BFF: IVY of My So Called Life

This post is long overdue. As you can obviously see, this blog, Our Journey to Forever and Kuerdas got a total makeover. I am no artist and I don't have the know how in tweaking blogs more so in understanding about codes, HTMLs, etc. You can just imagine what could become of my blogs if no angel from above came down to do wonders across my three blogs.

I thank the heavens for having a good blogger friend in IVY. She is such a sweetie and would always offer to help me out in fixing my blogs. All for free- only labor of love, hehe! Her artistic hands never gets tired in helping out a helpless friend, sigh! She has been keeping me company every night talking just about anything.

As I was learning more about her as a person, I find myself more and more lucky. Not everyone is given this rare chance to get that close to her and I appreciate her even more as a person for being transparent and outspoken.

I find her a dedicated and a passionate blogger. Her entire day would usually revolve around her blogs- doing opportunities, tweaking her blog themes and dropping cards. When you get to see her photos, who would have thought she is a married woman? She looks very young and very pretty! She is such a great catch. I am sure the hubby has long realized just how lucky he is for having a wife like Ivy.

Try to take a peek at all of her blogs. Just click the 125 x 125 images below:

Scar-Faced Lainy!

I started having acne during puberty. I got depressed! It even reached to a point where I do not want to see myself infront of a mirror! I do not want to go out and be seen by people. I do not want to see the look of horror in their faces whenever they get to see me scar-faced caused by acne. I got too devastated!
I hopped from one dermatologist to another. One dermatologist recommended acne scars cream. Somehow it worked because the scars got a little lighter. If you encountered the same problem that I had, you may want to try it, too.

I'm Dead Tired as Hell!

My Prince telling me: "You look a little tired, Mahal" sent me some warnings to take everything slow. That's what also the exact words my co-worker told me this morning the moment I opened the door at work. I feel like fainting! My zest and energy that has kept my blogs going has drained and sapped me all of my strength. I don't think I can't keep up for long.
I am no superwoman!
I've decided not to report for work this afternoon and took a good sleep. I had a good one, thank heavens! But since some affiliates has never failed to give me a few opportunities as of late, I have been working doubly hard. I coulnd't afford to go wishy-washy. I have been asking for this for quite a long time. I can't afford to go complacent. Beating some deadlines is keeping me busy (aside from dropping cards, of course!). I am up and about doing some tasks again for today.
I pray for more strength and wisdom.

Premenstrual Syndrome

I wasn't fully aware what particularly happens with our body when monthly periods take place. Not until my mood swings were noticeably at its worst everytime the monthly visitor is underway. I always have premenstrual syndromes. I do not know if it happens to a lot of women but it happens to me. That's when I've started asking around if it's normal for me to feel it.
My co-worker who is a nurse by profession told me it's normal because of the changes that takes place within our body and because there is an imbalance level of serotonin, a hormone which is responsible in the modulation of anger, body temperature, mood, sleep, metabolism, etc. She was able to explain it to me in detail including how a progesterone works in the female menstrual cycle.
Now I understand too well why my Prince would always tell me: "I will be nice to you, Mahal" everytime I get to have my period.

Sheer Heart Gave Ginebra Another Day to Live

Call me a basketball fanatic. I have been that for a long time. I wasn't able to write a post after the game last night because I was so tensed my muscles were trembling! My brothers would usually tease me and play with my emotions. One time, while Game 1 of the Championships was underway, my brother detached the TV antenna preventing me from watching the action. I was going bananas! I can see in their faces they are actually making fun of me.
Last night was no different. They knew I'm always tensed watching Ginebra play. They would always look at my face to see my reaction. My team was down 16-0 in the opening tip. The mammoth crowd held their silence as Air 21 made their rally. But the Kings just refused to back down.
The Kings lived up to its NEVER-SAY-DIE spirit. Chris Alexander's career-best performance carried the injury-hobbled Ginebra to winning Game 6 and forced a Game 7 on Wednesday. The more than 18, 000 crowd in the Big Dome were yelling and screaming GINEBRA! GINEBRA! The crowd darlings never failed the people's expectations. They were able to pull-off an all important win that gave them another day to fight.
Good luck for Wednesday's game!

War of Nerves

I am TOTALLY disappointed. If you have been watching the PBA, you should have known by now that Air 21 dismantled my all-time favorite team, Ginebra Gin Kings. The former delivered the goods at crunch time defeating the Gins in Game 5 of the Best-of-Seven series of the PBA Fiesta Conference. The entire series was a gruelling one. But Air 21 got the better of my own team tonight. I can hardly breathe watching the whole time! The nerve-wracking finish didn't go in Ginebra's favor. My whole world practically stopped after they lost. There was an absolute lull while I was watching them play. I haven't even finished yet my dropping chores for my second blog. After the heartbreaking loss, I don't have the energy to even get hold of the mouse! That's how affected I get by this basketball thingy!
But I know the never-say-die-spirit lives on. After the Gins' gaunting start this conference, they set the all-time worst record of zero wins in five games. They've sent home two reinforcement players. When they've acquired Chris Alexander, the Best Import for this conference, that's when they had the hefty plays going their way. They are back in their winning form once more as they made history by winning 12 straight games in a stretch of two long months! It is quite an accomplishment after a slow start!
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Gins would still be able get up after getting badly bruised in tonight's game. My ill-fated team will get to play a do-or-die game come Sunday. Wish me and my team goodluck!

August 18 is Ninoy Aquino Day

In view of Republic Act No. 9462, an act rationalizing the celebration of National Holidays and as per Presidential Procalamation No. 1463, August 18, 2008 is hereby declared a Special (Non-Working) Holiday, in observance of the Ninoy Aquino Day.
The declaration of holiday on Monday would mean three straight days off work for me and one extra day of blogging galore, hehe. This came rather timely as I have a lot of reviews to make which would expire in two days. I am hoping though I will have enough wisdom to keep this blog not as boring as it is now. So help me God!

On the Purchase of Entrecard Ads

This blog is barely four months old. I've never given this blog much attention, not until I've noticed the increasing number of visits it got per day. Today, I got too overwhelmed by the number of drops this blog got from Entrecard. I never fail to drop 300 cards daily. I do get return drops over 300. But today, the return drop is 507! It's the first time for this blog's history to have received that much number of drops. Breaking into the Top 20 Most Popular blogs at Entrecard is also unbelievable! It even surpassed my other blog's rankings. Don't mistake me for bragging about this but I sure as hell got very ecstatic. Out of more than 15, 000 Entrecard members, my blog is slowly inching closer to the top. Though I am well aware that rankings for the most popular blogs is never static and keeps changing every minute, it’s something that I think this blog can never accomplish again. I'm all the more humbled by this blog's progress.
One thing noticeable here is that I have only purchased one slot for advertisement which has been up and running at this site. I’ve purchased it for 1, 024 worth of credits. I didn’t think twice in purchasing the slot because that particular blog is always in the Top 10 most popular blogs.
I was faced with a huge challenge today in choosing the blogs I would drop my cards on out of the 507 blogs who made their drops for the day. It’s kind of hard because I can drop cards to only 300 blogs. I need to make a sound judgment on which blogs would likely return my drop again. Let’s face it. There are some Entrecarders who aren’t serious in dropping cards. They may have come across your blog by chance and tried to drop and that’s it. They never come back. I’m hoping I have indeed made a sound judgment in choosing the blogs I’ve dropped on as I’ve just finished dropping cards to 300 of them.

The blog who purchased a slot for my site today got 273 drops! I hope the blog owner is happy with the turn out of her ad purchase in my blog.

All these could not have been possible without my regular droppers and advertisers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have made a run down of the things I’ve learned today. These are as follows:

  1. Never hesitate to purchase big amount of credits for advertisement.
  2. Be wise in choosing the blog you want to purchase your slot for advertisement.
  3. Purchase slots from the campaign tab, go to the MOST POPULAR blogs at Entrecard, then choose ALL CATEGORIES and select NO maximum amount.

If you have a better way of purchasing your own slots for advertisements that gave you big numbers of drops, feel free to share it in my comment section.

My Own Struggle at Losing Weight

Two major elections took place last year. One was in May (Local and National elections) and the last one was in October (Barangay and SK elections). During those times, pressure took its toll on me. Stress had always been my worst nemesis. Those times I don't wanna see myself infront of the mirror. I look terrible! I can not even hold a comb to make myself tidy and presentable. The worst thing was, I gained too much weight! And why not? Food was overflowing from breakfast to dinner with complete snacks in between meals. It's hard to resist the foods being served on us. So yummy! After the elections, that's when I had problems going back to my previous weight.
I saw the need to trim down when I've noticed I had difficulty looking for the clothes I want to wear daily. I've kept changing clothes from one to another. I couldn't even wear my favorite jeans! My fats were bulging it looked so ugly! I got so desperate I tried out one Chinese medicine for 20 days. It's in capsule form and I took it once daily. But my boyfriend warned me it could have after effects later on. I've promised him I'd stop taking it after I've consumed the contents of the second box I've just purchased (which contains 10 capsules). Good thing it worked for me. But had I heard of Anoretix long before, I could have tried it and haven't worried much on the after-effects of taking diet pills. I've heard it's clinically proven to be safe and effective.

City Election Officer's Message

In behalf of GenSan's City Elections Officer, Atty. Jose M. Villanueva, I was tasked today to read before the local government employees of General Santos City his message for the constituents of our city.
Magandang GenSan everyone!
It is with great pleasure, that we, in the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), are given this golden opportunity to make announcements before LGU employees of this great city. Believe it or not, we are still very busy in our office, contrary to popular belief that COMELEC is busy only during elections... and considering that 2008 is not an election year. Notwithstanding the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) elections, our office undertakes the following activities:
  1. Releasing of Voter's ID
  2. Issuance of Voter's Certification
  3. Voter's Educational Training Program

The schedule for the registration of voters, transfer and correction of entries in the voting records is yet to be announced. Most probably, after the ARMM elections which is scheduled today, August 11, 2008.

For the information of everybody, the elections in ARMM is fully automated. Two systems will be used. The DRE or Direct Recording Electronic which records the vote and register automatically the votes in the database in COMELEC, Manila. The other one is the OMR or Optical Media Recording which needs a special type of paper as ballots and the votes are recorded by shading the appropriate blank spaces opposite the name of candidates. The DRE or Direct Recording Electronic is the more expensive system as we have to install the same for each polling precincts.

The automation in the ARMM elections is a test case for a full-blown automated elections come year 2010. At this point, we can only hope for the best and cross our fingers... that all systems perform as expected during crunch time.

Should you have any other concerns, please feel free to visit our office.

Thank you and good morning!

Manolo Blahniks

I am not too particular with brands. When I came across Manolo Blahniks collections, I got a little awed. They have vast selections of designer apparels, bags, jewelries, shoes, clothings, cosmetics, fragrances, and whole lot more! It is absolutely a one-stop shop especially for us women! The problem is I do not have enough moolah to purchase these signature products. I am a practical person and I tend to always prioritize my needs and for me, the basic essentials come first.

Featured BFF

I wrote an article in my other blog expressing my happiness because my Prince and I have reached this far. Being into a long distance relationship and holding on strongly until this very day is not a walk in the park. Most of you may not be too aware of it but along with me and my Prince celebrating our 19 months as sweethearts, I also celebrate my friendship with one of my BFFs (Blogging Friends Forever).
Exactly 19 months ago, Ate Bing or famously known as Bregie here in the blogosphere was introduced to me online by my Prince. It was the first day I've consented to be his Mahal. And it was also the day that my budding friendship with Ate Bing evolved. We always find ourselves chatting at YM and learned more from each other. And guess what? We have already met in the flesh early this year! That was the most exciting part! My Prince would always tease me: "You're stealing all my friends!" Hahaha! Well, it is just a pity he doesn't like writing that much. Coz if he does, he will be joining us all here and will get acquainted with all my BFF's.
I am glad I have found a friend in Ate Bing and she has been a real good Ate to me. She has done lots of good things for me and Scott especially in tweaking our photos together. Mind you! It looked for real! Almost everyone got deceived, hehe! That's the power of Adobe magic, hehehe! She truly has the hands of a good artist. Keep it up, Te! Stay nice as always! Cheers to our friendship!

Advantages of Car Insurance

My boyfriend had previously planned of selling his own car and getting a new one. I do not know as of yet if he is pursuing it but I can clearly recall he has frequently ranted that car insurance is a little expensive. He told me he still have to look for one insurance company that offers less payments but more benefits in favor of the car owner.
I think it is a must for car owners to get an insurance for the cars they own because they could greatly benefit from it. Take for instance my boyfriend's case. When hailstorm hit Sydney in November, Blacktown was the most affected area. His car was damaged. Good thing he got it insured. He paid only a little amount for the fixtures. Car insurance works for the advantage of car owners. Just always try to be on the look out for the best companies available in town.

But for business inclined individuals and for those who would want to manage the influx of money; where it's coming from and where it is being spent, Checking Accounts will be the best alternative to monitor and manage your finances. I am encouraging you to get your own checking account now. Some banks offer free checks, free check safekeeping, and free wire transfers.
Do check out the best checking account available and let me know how it worked for you.

What's With Number 8?

If you have failed to look at your calendar today, let me just remind you that today is August 8, 2008 (8/8/08). You may ask me, so what? Well, if you are Chinese or even if you're not but have strong beliefs for some of Chinese culture and traditions, then today would mean so much to you. It didn't came as a surprise to me that the Olympics, being held at Beijing, China, shall officially commence tonight at exactly 8:08 PM.
So why the fuss over this number? Well, in China and Chinese communities all over the world, number 8 means luck and prosperity. That is why it is no surprise that many people today worldwide are getting married, giving birth, and opening their businesses. It also meant social class status because in China, they have to pay extra if they want to have a number 8 in their phone number, plate number, bank account number, etc. It means you are a moneyed individual if you can afford the extra pay for that very special number.
I have read over a Chinese Astrology site that number 8 is lucky because "it has to do with the pronunciation of the word for the number 8 in China. It is pronounced "ba" and sounds like the word for prosperity which is pronounced "fa". Another reason why the number 8 could be considered lucky is because it is a perfect symmetrical shape. You can cut the number 8 in half vertically or horizontally, and both halves mirror themselves perfectly. Perfect symmetry lends itself to perfect balance. In Chinese Astrology, perfect balance is considered the ideal".

To Purchase or Not to Purchase

When I went to Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Bohol some years ago for exposure trips, I had a little problem preparing my things because I do not own my own luggage. I had to ask my friends to lend me theirs because mine was not that presentable and decent. That's when I saw the real importance of purchasing my own. Now I can see lots of luggages put on sale in the malls. I am very tempted to purchase everytime I get to see them but always tell myself: "Do not buy on impulse... Holt it! Hold it! ." I need to think twice because there is no need for me to buy as of yet. But I really need to purchase one sometime soon because prices are skyrocketing and luggages put on sale might not be that cheap anymore in the coming days.

Thoughts to Live By

"There is divine beauty in learning. To learn means to accept the postulate that life did not begin at birth. Others have been here before me and I walk their footsteps. The books I have read were composed by generations of fathers and sons, mothers and daughters; teachers and disciples. I am the sum total of their experiences, and so are you.

Of Awards and Taggies/ Memes

I have observed that taggies and awards are considered by many bloggers to be great interim posts especially for those who are engaged into serious moneymaking activities. It comes quite handy especially when one is left with no choice and have nothing to write about. But to some, these awards meant BIG and special and doing tags are a lot of fun. I would love to do memes especially the question and answer type. I'm all for various types of taggies as long as they are not too ridiculous and freakish, excuse me for the adjectives, hehe!
Quite a handful of awards and tags have been passed on to me the last couple of days. I know they have long been overdue. My apologies for this rather delayed posting. Since I couldn't keep track of all the friends who tagged and gave me awards previously, I will be relying on Mr. Technorati to do the tracking. If you haven't put a link in my name for those tags and award posts, I wouldn't be able to accomplish the tasks.
FRIENDSHIP AWARDS
Mummy Sheng and Joy gave me these two beautiful awards. It's always have been great to know you here and the rest of our blogger friends. Someday, somehow, I hope we could get to meet in the flesh. Now it's my turn to pass this on to Tina, Ate Bing and Honey.

SOMEONE SPECIAL ONLINE AWARD
This beautiful award is from my online friends, lovebirds Jim and Nancy. Thank you guys! I'm awarding this one to Reyapot, Ivy, Twinks and Mommy Ruby.

Top 10 Droppers for the Month of July

This is going to be the first time for this blog to recognize its Top 10 regular droppers for July. Entrecard did great wonders for this site since its birth three months ago. This blog sprouted from nothing and when I decided of coming up with this second blog, I have never thought I could ever manage to update it on a regular basis. But since I got this blog linked up with Entrecard, I always get an average minimum hits of at least 200 daily prompting me to update more frequently.
Now, it's high time for me to give credit to where it is due. Just click the 125 x 125 images below and you will be brought to another set of beautiful blogs. In the same manner, I would like to express how grateful I am to all advertisers who purchased ample amount of credits for the desired number of hits this blog could give, and to blogs who allowed the purchase of EC advert slots for my blog in their respective sites.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
